Catherine Vega is a lifelong advocate for traditionally underrepresented groups. As a Bay Area native, she is always looking for ways to give back to her community. As an associate at Villegas Carrera, Inc., she litigates on behalf of low-wage, mainly Latino, workers in sexual harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour cases. Prior to that, she served as a staff attorney at Legal Aid of Marin, where she helped low-income clients recover their wages, advocated for tenants in eviction cases, and educated the community about workers’ rights.
Ms. Vega graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2016. As a law student, she served as the Symposium Editor for Santa Clara Law Review and co-created the Race and the Criminal Justice Symposium. She also served as a law clerk, managing various wage and hour cases at the school’s Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center which provides pro-bono advice and representation in the areas of consumer law, immigration law, and workers’ rights.
Outside of the firm, she is proud to serve as a board member and officer of Lean in Latinas, a local nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of Latinas in the workplace.
